An introduction to Miss JetSetGo

Do you ever wonder what surprises lay outside your comfort zone?

My favourite thing to do in life is to get lost in a place where I don’t speak the language. Removing my comprehension of language heightens my other senses and focuses my attention on the scene in front of me, where I am free to observe and explore. My mind seeks to understand everything at once: the culture, the context, the cause and effect, the pros and cons, the opportunities and limitations, and most of all, the key ideas and impacts.

I’m a designer, innovator, strategist, business woman, researcher, problem solver, and traveller: all things that lead to my insatiable curiosity. I studied Interior and Living Design at Domus Academy in Milan, immersed in the rich culture and tradition of Italian art and design. This is also where I learned about the process of design thinking, which leads to business and design interventions full of richness and depth. More recently, I supplemented my education with an Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology.

“Miss JetSetGo” is the nickname I’ve earned for my nomadic and adventurous spirit. Having lived in 3 countries and travelled to 30, I’m as comfortable on the road as I am off of it. Wherever I am, I find myself pondering the comings and goings of people I pass on the street, and how those comings and goings have evolved over time. While a lot has changed in the ~2000 years since Romans enjoyed gladiatorial matches in the Colosseum, not much has changed at all. The fans still arrive en masse, but now their favourite sport is soccer and you’ll find them cheering raucously at the Stadio Olimpico.

This blog is a way to relive and retell my experiences and a place to share them with others. I’ll probably talk about art, business, culture, design, recreation, sporting events, travel, and whatever crosses my mind. As much as possible, I’ll give you my take on the theory and concepts to support the ideas.

I’ll be starting off this journey with a whirlwind trip across Europe: Maison et Objet in Paris, the Paralympics, the Biennale di Venezia, and the London Design Festival, and possibly a few other stops along the way.

I hope you will find inspiration, entertainment, and insights in the posts to come.
